Based on the opened Kunming Dali High Speed Railway, the long-expected high speed bullet trains start to run between Kunming and Lijiang, which cuts down the train travel time from 9.5 hours to about 3 hours. So far, there are 6 pairs of bullet trains (D trains) shuttling between Kunming Railway Station in Kunming and Lijiang Railway Station in Lijiang every day. For travelers who want to take fast trains from Kunming to Lijiang, you can choose from 6 trains arranged from about 08:15am to 19:30pm. The first train is a direct train without any stop on the way, which departs in the morning with shortest travel time less than 3 hours. Two of the trains will pass by Chuxiong (楚雄) or Dali (大理) and stop about 2~3 station en route. Similarly, there 6 daily bullet trains running the returning trip between 08:30am to 19:30pm.

Kunming Dali High Speed Train

Duration: 1 hour 48 minutes ~ 2 hours 14 minutes

After visiting Kunming, the famous “Spring City”in Yunnan Province, it’s very fast and convenient to transfer to Dali to explore diverse minority architecture, culture and history by 2 hour’s high speed trains. Totally, there are over 35 couples of high speed trains running between Kunming and Dali. To get from Kunming to Dali, you can take bullet trains departing from 07:30am to 21:45pm, and also extend further trip to Lijiang. Most trains will have a short stopover in Chuxiong (楚雄), the well-known location that holds the grand Torch Festival in Yunnan, and Xiangyun (祥云) in Western Yunnan Province. Kunming Guiyang High Speed Train

Taking a Kunming high speed train to Guiyang needs only about 2 to 3 hours. Every day, there are about 40 G-trains departing from Kunming South Railway Station from about 7 in the morning to 9 in the evening. With much shorter travelling time than driving for over 7 hours, you are highly recommended to take the bullet train to savor the various folk custom and ethnic features in both Yunnan and Guizhou Provinces. Besides, since the Kunming Guiyang high speed trains would stop in Anshun (about 1 hour 40 minutes to 2 hours 15 minutes from Kunming South), you could get off in that station to visit the famous Huangguoshu Waterfall in the middle way.

Kunming Guilin High Speed Train

Duration: 4 hour 52 minutes ~ 7 hours 51 minutes

There are 3 G-train and 5 D-trains operating from Kunming South Station to Guilin City. The G-trains and D-trains travel along totally different High Speed Rail. Usually, the D-trains start from Kunming and arrive at Guilin Railway Station, passing Shilin, Puzhehei, Nanning, etc., with a whole journey of about 7 hours 16 minutes - 8 hours 8 minutes. And the G-trains usually reach Guilin North Railway Station after about 4 hours 40 minutes – 4 hours 46 minutes, passing Anshun, Guiyang, etc. So taking the bullet train from Kunming is another best way to visit the highlights in Guilin, like Li River, Elephant Trunk Hill, Yangshuo, Longsheng Rice Terraces, etc.

Kunming Shanghai High Speed Train

Duration: 11 hour 26 minutes ~ 12 hours 19 minutes

From Kunming South Station, there are 4 G-trains running to Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station every day. The earliest train departs at about 07:36 and the last train at about 10:37, both in the morning. You can spend about 11.5 to 12 hours 17 minutes to get to Shanghai metropolis from the beautiful Kunming, with the highest speed of the train at about 300-350km/h. As the Shanghai Kunming High Speed Rail goes by Guiyang (about 2.5 hours), Kaili (about 2 hours 42 minutes-3 hours 24 minutes), Changsha (about 6 hours-6 hours 15 minutes), Nanchang (about 7-8 hours 24 minutes), Shangrao (about 9-9 hours 48 minutes), Hangzhou (about 10 hours 42 minutes-11 hours 42 minutes) and many other places before reaching Shanghai, you could have fun to the most along this one way to enjoy diverse kinds of culture, sightseeing, history, etc. and meet different people of different ethnic groups, etc.

Kunming Beijing High Speed Train

Beijing Kunming high speed train has put into operation for the convenience of people’s visiting, traveling, business, etc. You can choose from the 2 daily G-trains from Kunming South Railway Station to Beijing West Station. The earliest High Speed Train departs at about 8 of every morning. The whole running takes about 10.5 hours - 12 hours 18 minutes according to the number of middle stops.
