Day 1-2 Arrive in Kathmandu Buddhist and Hindu temples and shrines.
Our Nepalese tour guide will pick you up at Kathmandu airport. While in Kathmandu you will have time to explore Buddhist and Hindu temples and shrines reflecting ancient local traditions. There's time to explore the city's many charms on your own too. Your tour guide will take you to traditional Nepali restaurant for your first dinner in Nepal. Meanwhile, our Nepal office will help you obtain Chinese Visa in these two days, if you are in Kathmandu in the weekend, you may have to wait for another one or two days to wait the visa issuance.

Day 3 Kathmandu To Gyirong, 210km Pass the boarder, drive to Gyirong town (B)
Our local operator will pick up from your hotel in Kathmandu and get together around 6:00am, and then we will drive from Kathmandu to Rashuwaghadi (the border between China-Nepal), en-route, you’ll enjoy the marvelous scenery along the way, the rush green mountains, valleys, rivers, etc. After immigration formalities at Gyirong port, you will meet our Tibetan tour guide and driver, then continue drive to Gyirong town.

Day 4 Gyirong - EBC Everest Base Camp (B)
Drive along the Highway to Tingri where you can get wonderful view of Himalayan ranges, specially Mt. Shisha Pangma and before Old Tingri 40km from where you can get lovely view of highest peaks on the world, such as Mt. Lhotse (8516m), Mt. Everest(8848m), Mt. Qowowuyag (8201m), Mt. Makalu (8463m).

Day 5 Everest Base Camp to Shigatse (3900m) Sakya Monastery. (B)
Today we will drive to Sakya Monastery firstly, Sakya Monastery is one of the oldest and most important monastery and reputed as the "Second Dunhuang" for its magic murals Shigatse is the second biggest city in Tibet, has a lot of good hotels.

Day 6 Shigatse to Gyantse (3950m) - 90km Tashilupo Monastery, Kunbum Chorten, Palkor Monastery. (B)
Today's driving is much shorter but have a lot of places to visit. We will visit the place of the famous Tashilupo Monastery which is the seat of Panchen Lama, and one of the most important monastery in Tibet in the morning. then drive to Gyantse which is 2 hrs from Shigatse. Gyantse is small bustling town steeped in history. It lies 264 km Southwest of Lhasa on the northern bank of Nyang Chu river. Visit Kunbum Chorten and Palkor Monastery which was built around 1400 AD It later became the main center for trade with British / India.

Day 7 Gyantse-Lhasa (3650M) - 260km Karolapass, Kambala Pass, Yamdrotso Lake. (B)
6 hrs drive takes you to Lhasa crossing the KAROLAPASS (5010m) and Kambala Pass (4794m). While driving you will see the Yamdrotso Lake (Truquoise Lake),which is one of the three greatest holy lake in Tibet. after across Kambala, Lhasa Valley is seen to the north. You will also cross the Brahmaputra River and finally reach Lhasa.

Day 8 Lhasa Sightseeing Potala Palace, Johkang Temple. (B)
In the morning, you will go to the most splendid museum, the Potala Palace, and explore the grandest of its myriad chapals. see the jeweled burial chorten of past Dalai Lamas as well as statuary,frescoes and paintings. Later visit the Jokhang Temple, which is considered as the most sacred temple in Tibet, it draws tremendous number of pilgrims from all over Tibet each year for it houses a magnificent image of Sakyamuni at 12 years old. Then stroll around Barkhor, a pilgrimage circuit that encircles the Jokhang, it also serves as the biggest bazaar in Lhasa, where you can find some handicrafts, ambers, jewery,tibetan clothes,ect.

Day 9 Lhasa sightseeing Sera Monastery, Drepung Monastery. (B)
Today, you will explore Tibet's two greatest monasteries, Drepung and Sera. which once housed about 10,000 monks. Drepung monastery is situated at the foothill of a mountain and was founded by Jamyang Choeje in 1416. In the afternoon exploring the Sera monastery which was founded in 1419 by Tsongkapa's disciple Jamchen Choeje. The whole monastery is divided into two colleges and there are Sera 'jhe' and Sera 'may' respectively. Among them 'Tsokhang chenmo' where the monks from all the colleges assemble and pray together there. you can also see monks debating there in the courtyard in the afternoon section.
